Rare and unique book with descriptions of traditional ceremonies in the Northeast Thai region also known as Isan. Furthermore it contains a collection of local folk tales and believes that form the foundation of these ceremonies.
The people of Isan are mostly made up of Lao people, who migrated to this region. Their belief system is a mix of Buddhism and animism, mainly Lao in origin but nowadays also influenced by Thai culture.
