Rare original Thai 7" vinyl EP from the '70's with four soulful lukthung songs from the Northeastern region in Thailand, also known as Isan.
This EP is composed in the style of repartee, or call and response style - an ancient form of courting between men and woman in Asia, in which they ask and answer questions to each other.
Side A deals with the hardships of living in Isan, the challenges of the dry land and not having enough to eat.
Side B is more lighthearted and flirtatious. The first song of the male singer, Charam Thepchai (ชธัมภ์ เทพชัย), is a question to the women: why do I have to wait so long before I can touch you? In the second song on Side B female singer Nisa Surawichai (นิสา สุรวิชัย) answers that 'it is not possible', before marriage that is.

This original vinyl record pressed in Bangkok on 45 RPM is in very good condition. Some parts have some crackles but overall the record plays well. Listen to the audio clips for an impression of the actual copy for sale.
