Fantastic P-funk 45 from Junie Morrison, who is an ex-lead singer/keyboardist with The Ohio Players. He also co-wrote Funkadelic's seminal 'One Nation Under A Groove' before releasing solo material on leftfield funk/disco label ZE Records. So if the Ohio Players' Funky Worm comes to mind, that makes sense.
The 'talkbox' vocal effect is also all over of this track, which was a major part of Zapp & Roger at the same time.
