Classic Thai soul-lukthung with great rhythm & brass section by legendary singer Waipod Petsuphan. Rare original pressing from Thailand in very good condition!

Waipod Phetsuphan (ไวพจน์ เพชรสุพรรณ), whose real name was Phan Sakulnee (พาน สกุลนี) was born on 7 March 1942 in Suphanburi province in central Thailand. He specialized in the Thai popular folkmusic styles lukthung and phleng lae (เพลงแหล่) and was awarded National Artist of Thailand in 1997.
He is associated with "Queen of Lukthung" Pumpuang Duangjan, for whom he has written songs like 'Keaw Roe Phee' (แก้วรอพี่) and 'Countryside Singer' (นักร้องบ้านนอก/Nak Rong Baan Nork).

Waipod was of Laotian descent and started singing in 1962. Popular songs of him include 'Taeng Thao Tai' (แตงเถาตาย), 'Fang Khao Thit Kaeo' (ฟังข่าวทิดแก้ว), and 'Baeng Sombat' (แบ่งสมบัติ).
He died in Bangkok on 12 January 2022, at the age of 79.
